The most important ports for forwarding in India are the following 12 ports: Visakhapatnam has a cargo turnover of 50.19 million tons. This represents a share of 13.1. It is followed by the Kolkata with 46.15 million tonnes of goods handled and a share of 12%. The seafreight port of Chennai handled 43.8 million tonnes of goods, representing a share of 11.4%. Kandla, the port in the state of Gujarat, handled 41.54 million tonnes. Its share is 10.8%. The port of Mumbai in Maharashtra State accounts for 9.2% of the total and 35.12% of goods handled. Mangaluru has a share of 8.8% with 33.89 million tonnes handled. The Mumbai Navi records 32.94 million tonnes of goods handled. This is a share of 8.6 %. Mormugo and Paradip are also two major sea freight ports with a share of 8% and 7.8% respectively. They process 30.66 and 30.10 million tonnes of goods respectively. Three smaller ports for Indian seafreight bring up the rear in India, with 15.81 million tonnes of goods handled in the port of Thoothukudi and a share of 4.1%. This is followed by the port of Kochi with a share of 3.7 % and the sea freight port of Ennur with a share of 2.5 . Both ports of Spedition India have a cargo turnover of 14.09 million tons and 9.48 million tons respectively.
